Washington, D.C.--Earlier this year, President Obama selected a 31-year-old who had never run a business or set foot in an automotive assembly plant to oversee the dismantling of the General Motors auto company.Today, Obama announced he had selected Sameer Gunturi, the winner of the 2009 National Spelling Bee, to spearhead his education reforms.
“Sameer can spell ‘staphylococci,’” said Obama, “so I’m confident he can spell ‘success’ for America's education system as well.”
